Since as long ago as 1955, our Flight Attendant School has been training generations of professional service staff. One year later, in 1956, training commences at the Pilot School in Bremen, now also a member of the Lufthansa Flight Training organization. In 1957, the first pilots complete their training courses in a Lufthansa flight simulator.

In 1990, in an effort to consolidate and coordinate its extensive know-how, Lufthansa combines all training aspects in the flight personnel area to form a new and independent training division. On January 1, 1997, the entire training segment for Lufthansa flight personnel is outsourced as an independent organization under the name of Lufthansa Flight Training GmbH.
In addition to Pilot and Flight Attendant Training, Lufthansa Flight Training continually upgrades and expands its fleet of simulators. International expansion forges ahead with the aid of joint ventures and holdings. New subsidiaries are incorporated and new markets explored. Numerous banks, industrial corporations, or hospitals are already taking advantage of our service and safety expertise.
With the start of operations at the Lufthansa Flight Training Center on April 1, 2000, Lufthansa Flight Training once again sets new standards: The entire training program at the center in Frankfurt/Main is consolidated and further expanded. The Vienna Aviation Campus is opened in 2006 and now enables Lufthansa Flight Training to provide 360° Training for the entire cockpit and cabin personnel in Vienna, too.
